Auntie Dora started private tutoring at home since 1990 until July 2007 for 17.5 years when she founded the DOORS Method Learning Centre (DMLC) a school registered (Registration #572020) with the Educational Bureau in Hong Kong in August 2007.
The decision to introduce the DOORS Method to the public was in no small part due to the successful case results of a British girl Emma who was born with a Nuchal Cord (i.e. “an umbilical cord around her neck”), that led to speech problem requiring Speech Therapy treatments but with no apparent improvements. At age 4.5 Emma started the DOORS Methodand her issues were corrected to normal. Saying farewell before immigrating to Australia, teenager Emma was top of her class every year up to secondary school after reading 26 books up to Level 4 Laydybird book in merely 20 hours’ study under the DOORS Method reflextutoring. Always feel “God is using the DOORS Method to answer some desperate parents’ prayers”!
To fulfill her “dream” at DMLC, besides using only self-developed teaching materials, Auntie Dora personally trained a hand-picked team of dedicated Tutors, including her three daughters, on the DOORS Phonic System which she developed from scratch via her own research efforts. Trained intensively before deployment and continuously on the job to meet the high standards of delivery, the DOORS Tutoring Team has been instrumental in furthering the goals and objectives of the DOORS Method via a reflex approach.
At DMLC, students are assigned to different Tutors on a rotation basis. Our aim is to teach students the same DOORS Phonic System but by different Tutors with different accents, so our students can handle admission interviews or tests with confidence and fluency, regardless of who the examiners are, under whatever circumstances and environments. Besides, different Tutors can pick up varying weaknesses among students, so that the DOORS Team can exchange observations and discuss in our weekly meeting on how to perfect and improve students’ progress.

Auntie Dora自1990年起在家私人教授學生英文17.5年後,她於2007年8月在香港教育局註冊了DOORS Method Learning Centre(DMLC)創辦了一所輔導學校 (註冊編號 #572020)。
决定向公衆推出DOORS Method很大程度上是歸功於取得四歲半英國女孩成功案例的原因。Emma出生時臍帶繞頸,雖有數位語言師輔導但仍有言語障礙,經20小時DOORS 的反射性 教學後,不但閱讀了26本書,竟然在離港移民澳洲前,青少年的Emma已蜕變至每年直至中學都名列前茅DOORS的成功案例。總感到「上天正在通過和利用DOORS的教學方法去回應一些絕望無助父母的祈求禱告」
為實現她夢想的DMLC,學校只用自創的教學材料。Auntie Dora還精心挑選一群盡心教學敬業的導師,這也包括她三個女兒,並親授自己多年努力研發的DOORS Phonic System (DOORS拼音語音系統)。 在正式任教前,所有導師都要接受嚴格培訓及持續的在職訓練,以致能高水準地教授DOORS Method獨特的反射法。導師團隊能實現迅速教導幼兒讀默英文的目標和宗旨方面功不可沒。
在DMLC,學生會被輪流分配給不同的導師。我們的目標是讓學生由不同口音的導師教授相同的DOORS 拼音語音系統,好讓學生日後無論面對任何考官或考試環境,都能充滿自信及流利地應對。此外,在DOORS團隊每週的會議上,不同的導師能按著學生不同的需要或弱點,互相交流學生可改善或提升的方案,和討論怎樣跟進。
